Recent m-am întors dintr-un schimb de tineri desfășurat în Quarna Sotto, o comună aflată în inima munților, în nordul Italiei. Am decis să scriu acest articol din două motive. În primul rând, vreau să promovez proiectele Erasmus + deoarece sunt o oportunitate foarte accesibilă de a cunoaște oameni și locuri noi și de a trăi niște experiențe unice, finanțate 100% de Uniunea Europeană. Al doilea motiv, mai specific, este faptul că doresc împărtășesc experiența mea personală, legată de ce a însemnat proiectul acesta pentru mine, ce am făcut mai precis acolo și ce m-a impresionat în săptămâna petrecută în Quarna Sotto.

Pentru început, ce este un schimb de tineri Erasmus+ ? Pe scurt este un proiect finanțat 100% din banii UE, adică participanți primesc cazare, mâncare, activități și decontarea banilor de transport (într-o anumită limită). În cadrul acestor proiecte, tineri cu vârste între 13 și 30 de ani (30+ pentru liderii grupurilor naționale) au oportunitatea să cunoască oameni, locuri și culturi noi prin intermediul unor activități ce utilizează principiile educației non-formale.
În mod specific, în proiectul acesta au fost participanți din cinci țări ( Italia, România, Turcia, Croația, Polonia) și împreună am explorat cultura fiecărei țări, prin intermediul elementelor tangibile (artefacte – cravata croată, covorul turcesc etc.), al celor intangibile (dansurile) și a mâncărilor tradiționale (și a diferitelor modalități de a găti acele mâncăruri). Nu în ultimul rând, am asistat la prezentări realizate de fiecare grup național despre țara lor. În ceea ce privește dansurile, am învățat câte un dans tradițional specific fiecărei țări din proiect, plus un dans italian într-o interpretare modernă, în cadrul unui workshop de două ore, realizat de patru dansatoare profesioniste.

Ceea ce mi-a plăcut foarte mult în acest proiect a fost faptul că am reușit să implicăm în activitățile noastre și comunitatea locală, atât din Quarno Sotto, cât și din Omegna (un oraș din apropierea QS). Cum am făcut asta? Prin intermediul unor reprezentații în fața publicului, adică am realizat dansurile naționale pe care le-am învățat în zilele anterioare și am invitat spectatorii să danseze împreună cu noi. În Omegna, aceste reprezentații au luat forma unor flashmob-uri (adică, am venit, am dansat, am plecat în altă locație, apoi iar am dansat și ne-am deplasat în altă locație).

Față de alte proiecte în care am mai fost, aici am simțit o conexiune mai puternică între participanți. Am petrecut foarte mult timp împreună în atât în pauze cât și după terminarea activităților. Doua elemente cred că au favorizat acest lucru. În primul rând, Quarna Sotto fiind localizată între munți nu aveam semnal la telefon, nici pentru internet și majoritatea dintre noi nici pentru sunat/trimis mesaje. În al doilea rând, am petrecut cea mai mare parte a proiectului înconjurați de natură și peisaje minunate, iar asta cred că a contribuit la o stare de încredere între participanți, încă din prima zi a proiectului. Ca urmare, am avut mai mult timp să ne cunoaștem, deoarece am fost foarte deschiși unii față de alții, încă de la început.
În timpul nostru liber am decis să organizăm un hiking de câteva ore pe un traseu din apropiere. În cadrul drumeției noastre, am avut niște conversații foarte interesante cu câțiva colegi și consider că a fost o oportunitate foarte bună pentru a cunoaște lucruri noi despre culturile celorlalți participanți. Când am ajuns în vârful muntelui am fost impresionați de vederea lacului și de faptul că unul dintre munții aflați în depărtare era înzăpezit.

Lacul acesta mi s-a părut foarte interesant din punct de vedere istoric și cultural deoarece acum 2000 de ani, celții din zona aceasta venerau acest lac, deoarece arata ca un dragon (capul dragonului se poate vedea în poza de mai sus)
Pentru mine acest proiect a fost o experiență de neuitat datorită faptului că am cunoscut oameni noi din diverse culturi, am putut asista la viața comunitară din Quarna (concertul live, prezentarea porturilor populare) și Omegna (vizita la centrul cultural Mastronauta și festivalul stradal cu ocazia sărbătoririi Sfântului Vito, protector al orașului). Nu în ultimul rând, sunt foarte recunoscător că am putut lua parte la minunata experiență culinară italiană (pentru mine, titlul de cele mai bune paste și cea mai bună înghețată râmâne în Italia).
Dacă vi s-a părut interesantă scurta mea prezentare sau vă surâde ideea unui schimb de tineri Erasmus+, vă încurajez să aveți curajul să încercați, mai ales dacă aveți mult timp liber și doriți să cunoașteți oameni din culturi diferite, locuri, tradiții și mâncăruri noi. E o oportunitate de care cred că orice tânăr ar trebui să profite sau cel puțin să fie conștient de existența ei. În plus, până acum nu am găsit nici un motiv pentru care să nu vreau să merg într-un proiect și retrospectiv nu regret că am participat în nici unul dintre proiectele de până acum.

I recently returned from a youth exchange in Quarna Sotto, a commune in the heart of the mountains, in northern Italy. I decided to write this article for two reasons. First of all, I want to promote Erasmus + projects because they are a very accessible opportunity to meet new people and places and to experience wonderful moments with yound people from different countries, funded 100% by the European Union. The second reason, more specifically, is that I want to share my personal experience, about what this project meant to me, what I did more precisely there and what impressed me during the week I spent in Quarna Sotto.

For starters, what is an Erasmus + youth exchange? In short, it is a project funded 100% from EU money, participants receive accommodation, food, activities and the accomodation and the reimbursement of the travel expenses (within a certain limit). Within these projects, young people with ages between 13 and 30 years (30+ for the leaders of national groups) have the opportunity to meet new people, visit new places and cultures and participate in activities that use the principles of non-formal education.
Specifically, in this project were participants from five countries (Italy, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Poland) and together we explored the culture of each country, through tangible elements (artefacts – Croatian tie, Turkish carpet, etc.), intangibles elements (dances) and traditional foods (and different ways to cook those foods). Last but not least, we attended presentations made by each national group about their country. Regarding the dances, we learned a traditional dance specific to each country of the project and an Italian dance in a modern interpretation, within a two-hour workshop, facilitated by four professional dancers.

What I really liked about this project was the fact that we were able to get involved through our activities in the local community, both from Quarno Sotto and from Omegna (a city near QS). How did we manage to do it? In Quarna Sotto, we performed in front of the public the national dances we had learned in the previous days and invited the spectators to dance with us. In Omegna, these representations took the form of flashmobes (ie, we came, we danced, we went to another location, then we danced and we moved to another location).

During our free time we decided to organize a hike on a nearby route. During our hike, I had some very interesting conversations with some colleagues and I think it was a very good opportunity to know new things about the cultures of the other participants. When we reached the top of the mountain we were impressed by the sight of the lake and by the fact that the top of one of the mountains in the distance was covered by snow.

For me this project was an unforgettable experience due to the fact that I met new people from different cultures, I was able to attend the community life in Quarna (live concert, presentation of popular ports) and Omegna (visit to the cultural center Mastronauta and the street festival in celebration of Saint Vito, the patron saint of the city). Last but not least, I am very grateful that I was able to take part in the wonderful Italian culinary experience (for me, the title of the best pasta and the best icecream remains in Italy).
If you found my brief presentation interesting or you think about going in an Erasmus + youth exchange, I encourage you to have the courage to try, especially if you have a lot of free time and you want to meet new people from different cultures, places and discover new dishes and traditions . It’s an opportunity that I think every young person should take advantage of or at least be aware of it. In addition, so far I have not found any reason why I should not want to go in a E+ project, if i have the time and in retrospect I do not regret having participated in any of the projects so far.
